UOIT welcomes the parents and family members of every student!
Student success at university is the result of a team effort; parents and families are an integral part of the team. This section of the website has been developed to provide an additional understanding of the student experience and offer ways that parents and family members can remain active partners in fostering success. We believe that the more informed family members are about UOIT, the better equipped they are to support and celebrate the successes and challenges of their student.
Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy
Undoubtedly, there will be times when your student turns to you for guidance. By informing yourself of campus policies, support services and procedures you will be able to refer your student to the appropriate personnel at the most opportune time. It is important to be aware that your student is protected by the
Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, which is a government act, and UOIT is not permitted to release confidential information regarding your student. This includes, but is not limited to, academic progress, financial information and registration.
