Course registration guide

Welcome to the University of Ontario Institute of Technology! We are happy you are part of our campus community.

This website is designed to help you with the course registration process. We encourage you to register for both the fall and winter terms; this will help you to better plan your schedule and finances for the upcoming academic year.

Once you have registered, there are important next steps:

Important: You are responsible for familiarizing yourself with all deadlines found on the undergraduate important dates web page, including fee payment and course add/drop dates.

  • Technology-enriched Learning Environment (TELE)

Visit the Information Technology Services website for information on the Technology-enriched Learning Environment (TELE) program. Here you will find which TELE model is used in your program, and if you need to purchase your own laptop or if one will be provided to you by the university.

  • UOITnet login procedures

UOITnet is an email service and product suite powered by G Suite for Education. Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive and Docs and Google Hangouts have been enabled for the UOITnet domain. Follow the login instructions to access G Suite for Education.

Please note: Newly admitted students must change the default network password prior to accessing the university network, Blackboard and UOITnet email accounts. The default password can be found under the Important information section after logging into MyCampus.

  • Communication via UOITnet email and MyCampus postings

All official communication from the Registrar’s office will be sent to your UOITnet email account and posted on the UOIT Undergraduate tab on MyCampus. You are responsible for checking both regularly for information such as course registration, examination information and add/drop deadlines.

  • Paying your tuition

Once you have registered, you accept responsibility for payment of fees. Your balance owing will be made available through the online registration process. Fees are charged on a per-course basis. Check your account balance every time you make a change to your registration.

Failure to pay fees or arrange an approved deferment by stated fee payment deadlines could result in de-registration from courses, late fees and financial holds on your account.

  • Registering for Trent University courses

If you intend to register for a Trent course, Trent University courses follow the same academic dates as UOIT.

  • Your privacy

Information supplied via the web registration system will be used for the purposes of registration, decisions on your academic status, academic advising and to provide you with information related to your studies at the university. It may be shared with your course instructors, the UOIT Student Union and other educational institutions to which you have applied or have been enrolled. If you register in a Trent University course, your information will be provided to them for purposes of registration, instruction and grading.
