Parking

The university provides parking facilities for students, faculty, staff and visitors. 

Short-term parking

Short-term parking is available at an hourly rate at the university's north Oshawa campus location in pay-and-display areas in front of/adjacent to:

  • Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre
  • Founders Lots 2 and 4
  • Commencement Lot
  • Durham College Student Services Building

Daily parking

Daily parking at the north Oshawa location is available in all gated parking lots except for Founders 1. If you arrive at a lot and it is full, you will be directed to other lots with available parking.

To gain entry and to exit gated lots, you must obtain a ticket from the machine at the vehicle entrance. Tickets must be validated before you approach the exit (paying by cash or credit card) at the payment kiosks located in Commencement Lot (two kiosks available), Founders Lot 2 and Champions Lot.

Evenings, weekends and holidays (in gated lots at the north Oshawa location)

  • Evenings: 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.  
  • Weekends and holidays: 5 a.m. to 5 a.m. the following day.

Visitor parking at the university's downtown Oshawa location

  • Visitor parking is available in public parking lots and on city streets. Please refer to the City of Oshawa's website for rate information.

Parking permits

Annual (12-month) and semi-annual (semester) parking permits are available for the north Oshawa campus location and downtown Oshawa location. For information about rates, or to buy a permit, please visit the online Application Processing Centre. You will need a valid email address to register and buy a permit.

All permit holders will be issued an access card for use at their designated parking lot (Note: Those purchasing permits for Campus Corners, Simcoe Village Lot and Champions Lot will be issued hang-tags, not access cards).

Please ensure your vehicle’s licence plate is registered in the Parking system under the Vehicles tab. Licence plates will be scanned to confirm if a vehicle is registered.
