This Basic Safety Training session is provided to maintain a safe and healthy working environment as the prevention of occupational illness or injury is an ongoing endeavor that UOIT is committed to providing. This particular training session touches on various topics related to lab and worker safety. Beginning with the rights of workers and safe working practices, this session guides attendees through various types of safety procedures and precautions.

A solid understanding of WHMIS is achieved before covering fire, chemical, electrical, electrical, biological, radiation, gas, and cryogenic safety practices. Types of emergency equipment is also investigated and the treatment of hazardous waste is discussed. Finally, UOIT's Safety and Wellness committee is reviewed alongside the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
In this workshop you will learn:
